Several nearby beaches offer a wide variety of swimming, bodysurfing and snorkeling activities.  These beaches include Kiahuna Plantation, Shipwreck (in front of Hyatt


Dining on the Lanai

Hotel), Poipu Beach Public Park and a beach just down the road to the west of Hale Luana, opposite the Prince Kuhio Park.  All beaches in Hawaii are public.

Hale Luana is one of the few private residences on Kauai's sunny south shore with frontage on a white sand beach.   Hale Luana's beach is called "Baby Beach" because of its suitability for infants and young children.   About 100 yards wide, Baby Beach is protected by a reef and is not suitable for swimmers who wish to body surf or swim any distances. Please note that a "pool screen" is available to protect young guests from pool accidents.  The 4' high, vinyl-mesh screen is secured by vertical posts around the perimeter of the pool.  The screen can be assembled or disassembled according to the needs of the renter.  Click for photos of the pool screen when it is set up.
